Envisioning Odissi in North America

Our first official blog post…A meditation on beginnings and continuations.

Yes, OANA is still very much in its fledgling stage. It was not too long ago (just a few months, really) that we received our not-for-profit designation, not too long ago that we hosted our first event. We have so many plans and aspirations for growing and expanding our offerings (you can read about our Strategic Vision here). We are hoping to deepen into connection, deepen into understanding what it is that the Odissi community of North America is needing and wanting. 

And…OANA fully recognizes that its beginning is actually a building upon. So many in our community have and continue to do the tireless and thoughtful work of establishing Odissi all across the continent. Odissi has become accessible to so many in North America because of the tremendous sacrifice and determination of so many. As an organization we want to uplift those efforts, to celebrate and support them. We want to hear from each of you, every voice in this magnificent and ongoing story of Odissi in North America is significant and valued. 

We look forward to growing together.
